For anyone contemplating renovation at an industrial, commercial or residential level, the risk of disturbing asbestos containing materials is very high. If your house or property was constructed between 1970 and 1990, your chance of asbestos containing materials being present is considerably higher. Unfortunately, it is impossible to know whether a building contains asbestos before beginning construction as there is not a national registry and ACMs were so widespread that it can be almost impossible to track. Therefore, if you are about to undertake construction, it is important that you have your building thoroughly inspected beforehand.
