Operating out of a storefront in Chicago, Illinois, Ebco was founded in 1951 as an industrial sales representative company. Quickly finding a niche within the domestic rubber industry, Ebco s initial success came in selling tires used on the iconic Radio Flyer wagons.
In an effort to expand its industry presence during the early 1960 s, the decision was made by Ebco to become a contract manufacturer. This allowed for greater control over the business and its products.
With continued success, Ebco acquired Nye Rubber in 1975. The assets acquired in this purchase were relocated to Bluffton, Indiana and provided for the formation of Bluffton Rubber Company. Ebco soon became the largest supplier of toy tires in the United States. Beginning in the late 1970 s, Ebco s product focus shifted toward engineered products, specifically vibration isolators.
Continuing expansion in 2011, Ebco headquarters was relocated to Elgin, Illinois. In addition, Ebco formed an exclusive partnership with MBR Distributors in order to better serve lower volume customers. As an ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 certified organization, Ebco is also classified as a Minority Business Enterprise by the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council.
