Mel’s California Hoagies originated when Mel moved from Chicago in 2008 to California. There were no good hoagie spots there so he decided to come up with his own unique hoagie recipe. He started giving them away to friends and family out there. They were a hit! I mean people would argue over the last bit! The sandwiches became so distinct, not only due to the taste but the hoagies were good even after refrigeration! Mel then decided to sell them locally but never thought or imagined how big the sandwiches could become! Mel was just making them because he wanted his friends and family to enjoy an awesome sandwich.
