Peugeot Middle East

Peugeot is a French automotive manufacturer, part of Groupe PSA. The family business that preceded the existing Peugeot company was founded in 1810.

The Peugeot name held a prominent place at the emerging French automotive sector of the 19th century. The Peugeot household was among the nation's leading producers, operating a fabric mill in France's Alsace region. At the first part of the 19th century, the family switched to steel manufacturing, after Jean-Pierre and Jean-Frederic Peugeot devised the cold-roll way of fabricating spring steel. The bicycle craze of the 1880s brought the family to wheeled automobile creation, as Armand Peugeot, grandson of Jean-Pierre along with a fisherman himself, joined the family enterprise. It had been Armand Peugeot, who'd turn the Peugeot title into one of the most respected automotive producers in the world.
