The company was founded by planet-conscious makeup artist, Olivia McLeod, who is on a mission to raise awareness about the unethical beauty practices that are still occurring in the cosmetics industry today. She wants to expose brands that support cruel beauty and educate the masses about the negative environmental impacts of using non-recyclable packaging and irresponsibly-sourced ingredients. Despite being a major driver of deforestation, palm oil is a component in many of the cosmetics we see on shelves today. Truth About Makeup believes the world's reliance on palm oil needs to stop. The same can also be said about single-use plastic and packaging that cannot be easily recycled.
