One of the largest clubs in Los Angeles, Avalon has been open in a corner of Hollywood and Vine for decades. It was only in 2002, though, that the Avalon nightclub began to open every Friday and Saturday for the night. Designed in a Spanish colonial style, Avalon has four rooms and extensive lighting systems, as well as a rare 24-hour liquor license. In addition to the main room, there is a sit-down Honey Restaurant, a Bardot Lounge and a Loft.
With theatrical performances to famous headlines such as the Beatles and Sound Garden, Avalon Hollywood has entertained the public since the early 1920s, but until 2003, it did not go a major change except that the DJ-driven dance club hotspot was created. Although the big name band still plays the cavernous hall, it is however evident in the strong electronic composition, which can explain why Sasha built his first West Coast residence and Paul Oakenfold continued to blow the glow stick-lit roof off.
This is a legendary club among the most historic landmarks in Hollywood. Initially, The Beatles held their first West Coast performance in this place and in Sasha’s first West Coast DJ residency, in 1964. Recently, Billy Idol and Oozy Osbourne have played Los Angeles Youth Benefit Concert and Carrie Fisher, Perez Hilton, Lisa Lampanelli, Adam Lambert and Sara Rue bonded at the Annual Logo New-Now-Next Awards 2011, here. Friday and Saturday Nights are known for their weekly shows with nu-electro, techno, and house music. Avalon packs in the crowd and bumps the music to fist-pumping levels, so you should be comfortable dancing against lots of other strange, sweaty bodies. The sound system is one of Hollywood's best, and it is really an unforgettable experience when the special guest DJs stop by to jam. Avalon will make you feel like stepping right into the round of 90s rave scene if you go right on the night; also if you are looking for energy, Avalon is electric.
