Inara Svalbe OBE started teaching ballet at Oxley in 1968. In January 2000, Inara registered Centenary Dance Academy as a new business name and was joined by new artistic and administrative business partners. The studio has since grown in leaps, bounds and grand jetés and now has a teaching staff of more than twenty-five teachers and assistant teachers and offers a wide range of classes and genres. The studio’s latest change is a team-based approach to studio management as part of its move to new studios. Each change in this long tradition has affirmed the core philosophy of CDA: enabling every person to experience the joy of dance.
