Registered Massage Therapists in British Columbia are health care professionals committed to restoring and maintaining optimal health and pain-free function of the body. RMTs work with patients to help maintain and regain their quality of life. Massage therapy is the assessment of the body's soft tissues and joints, and the treatment and prevention of dysfunction, injury, pain and physical disorders of the soft tissues and joints. Massage Therapists use techniques that can dramatically increase pain-free movement and improve a patient's ability to perform the activities of daily living. RMTs promote health by teaching patients therapeutic exercises, encouraging better postural habits for work, sport, leisure or sleep.
