Kathy has been immersed in the art world her entire professional career. She attended the Colorado Institute of Art and while attending college, she worked for several prominent organizations gaining valuable experience such as, the Arts Students League of Denver, Metropolitan Denver Arts Alliance / Denver Partnership, and Denver News4.
In 1989, Kathy was hired by Joe Bullard, formerly managing editor of the Denver Post, and Tony Campbell, former managing editor of the Rocky Mountain News, as Production Manager for one of Denver’s first and only publication design firms at the time, Publication Design, Inc. Kathy spent her days designing, producing, and scheduling of several weekly publications in the cable news trade industry, and in charge of a department of five designers. She worked with some of Denver’s most prestigious writers, editors and photographers from The Rocky Mountain News, Denver Post, and the Denver and Boulder Business Journals. If there was ever a storm to be in the eye of, and calm, this was it.
In 1995, Kathy’s career path took her to the Western Slope to the Gunnison Valley and the towns of Crested Butte and Gunnison, Colorado. She worked as Prepress Department Manager for two printing companies in the Valley — Crested Butte Printing and B&B Printers, designing everything under the sun for local businesses in the Valley. Kathy was the in-house Prepress Manager and lead graphic designer for B&B Printers until she moved to Fort Collins in 2015.
