Los Suenos Fishing Charters, Top Fishing Adventures, The peak offshore season starts around the beginning of December and lasts well into April with sailfish plentiful along with occasional marlin, dorado, and tuna, but all are available year-round just in fewer numbers. Nearshore fishing is reliable all year for roosterfish, snapper, amberjack, grouper, etc. Like the rest of Costa Rica, October and November should be avoided because of unstable weather patterns.
