Sri Lankan family tea company Dilmah, established by Merrill J. Fernando, was the first producer owned tea brand. Now joined by his two sons, Dilhan and Malik – whose names form the brand Dilmah – Merrill set out to bring quality back to tea, whilst making his business a matter of human service. He devoted his life to tea and in 2009 celebrated his 60th year in tea and the 21st anniversary of his Dilmah. A family company, founded on family values, Dilmah is different – a passion for quality, authenticity and freshness in tea is matched by an unique philosophy to share the success of Dilmah with those less fortunate.
