Kathleen Anderson is Board Certified in Criminal Law and Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Becoming Board Certified involves a strenuous application process, including, demonstrating years in practice, extensive trial and appellate experience, experience in dispute resolution, and positive judicial and peer reviews. If the application to sit for the Boards is granted, the applicant must pass an extensive six-hour exam. A small percentage of attorneys are successful in their attempt to become Board Certified. Only 1% of Texas attorneys are board certified in two or more areas. Kathleen Anderson is part of this small percentage of attorneys.

She became Board Certified in Family Law in 2005 after going into private practice. Before becoming a defense attorney, Kathleen was a career prosecutor. She was also a prosecutor for the Bastrop County District Attorney's Office. Kathleen has tried before a jury all degrees of felonies, including capital murder. Kathleen has never lost a jury-trial.
