We can often overcomplicate conversations by ignoring the simple facts in plain view. In this case, the facts clearly demonstrate not only did Jean Ribault not bring with him any African slaves, but he was also loved and respected by the native people he met in the new world. The first-hand written account by René Laudonnière about Jean Ribault is never hostile toward the Timucua and any other native people group in Florida.
