We take a unique Harm Minimisation approach to overcoming drug and alcohol addiction and other addictive habits. This means our focus is on building your knowledge and understanding around your using patterns, providing you with practical tools and strategies to manage stress and other life struggles while empowering you to live a full, rich and meaningful life.? Based in Bondi Junction, The TARA Clinic provides outpatient services to clients in and around Sydney. Our psychologists are highly experienced and have helped many people change their lives in a healthy way, through the use of tailored addiction programs. The clinicians at The TARA Clinic understand that seeking support and treatment can be daunting. As such we will work to make your sessions as comfortable as possible. Each treatment plan is designed specifically with your individual needs in mind and initially, will likely include weekly sessions. The number and frequency of sessions you need will be mutually agreed upon with your psychologist and is always open for review. Typically, the weekly sessions would over time progress to fortnightly and then monthly. This step-down approach will be revised regularly to provide you with the opportunity to gain confidence in your skills over time. Our clinicians will work with you to assist you to reach your own recovery goals. In doing so, you will be provided with information about any risks involved in the substance use patterns you are living with and offered ways to reduce the risks. This is called harm minimisation and focusses on reducing the risks to yourself and the community from your substance abuse.
