Dr. Rik is a specialist knee surgeon in Dubai with a special interest in joint preservation, biologic knee reconstruction, and complex knee disorders. He also treats patients with knee arthritis aiming to utilize the most conservative joint-preserving options whenever possible. He treats sports injuries in athletes of all abilities, from elite professional to weekend warriors. He is actively involved in surgical education and research, including the evaluation of innovative surgical techniques, with the aim to improve patient outcomes.

As a British consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Rik has spent over 19 years practising orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. He has a special interest in knee joint preservation, biologic knee reconstruction and complex knee disorders. He works as a specialist best knee surgeon in dubai and has gained extensive experience in knee surgery including ACL reconstruction, arthroscopic procedures, knee osteotomy, and knee replacement surgery since his appointment as a Consultant in 2011.

He is widely respected and well versed in the care of athletes with knee problems, from elite professionals to weekend warriors. He is also highly experienced in the management of younger patients with knee arthritis and kneecap-related problems.

He is an expert in the latest minimally invasive, bone preserving and recuperation-enhancing trends in knee replacement surgery and is conservative in his approach to the patient.

He has been actively involved with major orthopaedic companies in the development and evaluation of new surgical techniques. Additionally, he has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and is regularly invited to national and international conferences as an invited speaker.

Dr. Rik graduated from Imperial College London School of Medicine and completed basic surgical training in the Mersey Deanery. He went to the West Midlands in Birmingham and Coventry for higher surgical training.

In addition to orthopaedic training, Rik studied sports medicine and having completed the required Diploma examinations, became a member of the UK Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

He completed two specialist fellowships at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto – sports medicine and reconstructive knee surgery. These included working with elite athletes from the NBA basketball league.
