Prior to being called to the Bar, Mr. Gu gained extensive experience in various legal roles. Mr. Gu worked as a senior lawyer with Victoria Police, managing the prosecution of domestic violence cases in a regional office in Victoria. He also spent time as a principal lawyer in private practice. His prior experience further includes a seven-year tenure with the Queensland Police, during which he served as a police prosecutor for five years. His experience includes handling numerous bail applications, criminal cases, traffic violations, domestic violence cases, interstate extradition requests, complex trials, and various court hearings at magistrates court.
Beyond his legal experiences, Mr. Gu possesses a broad understanding of various industries such as banking and finance, law enforcement, legal practices, and information technology. Complementing his legal qualifications, Mr. Gu has achieved the designation of a Certified Practicing Accountant.
Alongside Mr. Gu’s regular legal practice, he also provides pro bono services for certain types of cases that serve the public interest. This is part of his collaboration with LawRight and extends into his independent practice.
