Cielo is located in downtown’s ultra ultra chic Meatpacking District. It is a Manhattan nightclub that blends modernity with retro style, a perfect place for fans of good electronic music and good artistic atmosphere. Cielo is not only a club – it is a Mecca for those who truly love art and underground tones of NYC. Those who are looking, not only fun, but also a culturally rich nightlife, communication and interaction with similar persons, in order to express their individualism and attitude, perhaps discuss about art, new events in the fields of music and movie industry – all completed with an excellent electronic rhythms, will probably find what they look for in Cielo. The Club has stayed true to these initiatives and established itself as a legendary name in New York City’s dance music underground, for more than 12 years. Its founder and co-owner, Nicolas Matar, had the idea to open this type of club after his DJ career, spent especially in Ibiza. A DJ for the past 20 years, Nicolas was most notably known for his residency at the infamous Ibiza Pacha Nightclub. Nicolas played in the funky room - “El Cielo”, what gave him an inspiration for the name of his club. El Cielo means Sky, but also Heaven, in Spanish. After that he returned back to NY, he decided to open his own club, and to realize all experiences gained and lived in the past 20 years. Having worked for 20 years in one of the most famous place in the world of clubbing and nightlife, such Ibiza is, Matar has collected more than enough experiences to start with his own business. Cielo club is, certainly, a result and sum of all his experiences and good vibes.
