At Canadian Pardon Applications, we believe that the punishment for a crime should end once you have served your sentence, paid your fines, and refrained from re-offending. Canadians who have been charged with or convicted of a crime often continue to bear the consequences long after they have paid their debt to society. With police background checks becoming common for everything from employment, loan applications, and housing opportunities to travel and child custody cases, many individuals with blemishes on their record may find themselves feeling excluded from society and unable to live the lives they desire.
Individuals who wish to seal their record can do so by applying to the Parole Board of Canada for a record suspension (pardon) and/or a record destruction (expungement). Those who would like to travel to the United States without a pardon can obtain a US Entry Waiver. When a pardon or expungement is granted, no record of your charge or conviction remains public, and a US Entry Waiver ensures that you will be unhindered in your travel to the United States as you have been prescreened by U.S. Homeland Security for Entry.
