À propos IRTE
IRTE's journey since 1991 has dwelt upon developing infrastructure in the fields of traffic engineering, public participation & building awareness.
Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE), a non-profit organization, was formed in December 1991 by interdisciplinary group of members including educationists, doctors, journalists, engineers, ex-servicemen, architects, automobile experts and members of the police etc. with a single aim to make the Indian roads safer for those who use them.
Mission
The aim and objectives of the IRTE have been to improve the basis of safety in traffic management by catalysing capacity building of government and non-government organisations. This has been possible through our indigenous research as well as sharing and learning of best practices and collaborating with governments and academic institutions across the globe.
Description
The IRTE’s College of Traffic Management (CTM) is the Centre for Excellence in Road Safety for the South East Asian Region. At CTM, a specially designed Road Safety Hall of Nations has been created. All the conferences and workshops are being held in the Hall of Nations since 2012. These conference are being hosted in collaboration with the Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (WP1 of the UNECE), Transport Section of the UNESCAP, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, USA and the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India towards improving road safety in the South East Asian Region.
